Shawna Sharell Torrence : Man Dies After Woman Tries to Kill Him – Charges Filed

A woman in Houston has been charged with aggravated assault of a family member after a man accused her of attempting to “kill him” before succumbing to his injuries in a stabbing incident in west Houston. Shawna Sharell Torrence, 38, now faces charges in the 488th State District Court.

The Houston Police Department (HPD) reported that the victim, a 39-year-old man, and Torrence were in a romantic relationship. They had been visiting several bars with a witness before the incident took place. After the witness deposed, Torrence tried to communicate with the victim, who was unresponsive in the back seat. Upon touching his leg, she noticed it was bloody. Torrence then drove him to a location on Richmond Avenue in an attempt to seek medical assistance around 12:20 a.m. on Friday.

HPD officers were at HCA Houston Healthcare West for an unrelated matter when they received reports of an injured man being dropped off by an unidentified woman. The victim alleged that the woman, later identified as Torrence, was trying to kill him. Torrence was subsequently arrested for further questioning.

Despite efforts to save him, the victim tragically passed away from his injuries after being airlifted to another hospital.

Investigations and Charges

Further investigations identified Torrence as the main suspect in this case. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was promptly notified, and Torrence was subsequently charged for her alleged involvement in the incident. Ongoing investigations continue to shed light on the details surrounding this tragic event.
