On Saturday night, a devastating two-vehicle crash in Menard County, Illinois, claimed the life of a 60-year-old woman. The incident occurred on Illinois Route 97, just north of North Shore Drive in Petersburg Township.
Details of the Accident
The Illinois State Police responded to the scene at 10 p.m. According to reports, a pick-up truck travelling northbound on IL Route 97 crossed the center line and collided head-on with a minivan travelling southbound on the same route. The impact of the crash was severe.
Victims of the Crash
As a result of the collision, the driver of the truck and a passenger in the minivan sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Tragically, the driver of the minivan, identified as Marjorie Hinds from Petersburg, IL, succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced dead at Springfield Memorial Hospital at 10:52 p.m.
Autopsy Results
Following the incident, an autopsy was conducted which revealed that Marjorie Hinds passed away due to multiple blunt force injuries sustained during the crash.
