The suspect, identified as 16-year-old Dawensky Zamor, has been charged as an adult by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Eye Witness Account of the Shooting
According to court documents, a passerby who was driving down Harcourt Road witnessed the fatal shooting. The witness reported seeing a male wearing a red hoodie with the hood up pushing the victim, identified as Lance Little, off the sidewalk and into the street. Despite backing up to the middle of the road, Little was shot by the suspect with a handgun.
Police Response and Arrest
Following the shooting, the witness attempted to render aid to Little while the suspect fled towards Reflections apartments. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were called to the scene and set up a perimeter to locate the shooter. After speaking with witnesses, SWAT officers were deployed to search the area.
During the search, officers spotted a teenager, identified as Zamor, exiting an apartment at 1856 Welchwood Circle. Although Zamor was not wearing a red sweatshirt, officers noticed blood on his leg and sandals. Zamor was taken into custody, and a subsequent search of his room led to the discovery of a handgun wrapped in a red sweatshirt hidden in the headboard of his bed.

Despite Zamor’s silence towards officers, his mother informed police that he sometimes enters a “catatonic state” and refuses to communicate. She mentioned that Zamor has sought medical help for this condition in the past. If convicted of murder, Zamor could face a maximum sentence of 65 years in prison.
