The young boy, identified as Ali Aminzadah, hailing from Swan Hill in Victoria’s north-west, was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving his family and community in shock and grief. Ali’s father, speaking to ABC, expressed his devastation and confusion over the tragic events that led to his son’s untimely passing.

Authorities have clarified that the incident is not being treated as suspicious, and police are in the process of preparing a detailed report for the coroner’s investigation. Cardinia Shire Mayor Jack Kowarzik extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, acknowledging the profound loss they are experiencing.

“This is absolutely tragic news,” Mayor Kowarzik stated. “I extend our heartfelt condolences to the boy’s family during this devastating time.”

The tragic drowning of the four-year-old boy comes amidst a concerning trend of water-related fatalities across Australia during the recent summer months. Lifesaving Victoria has reported a total of 47 drowning deaths in the state since July 1 last year, highlighting the importance of water safety awareness and precautions.
