The Yankton county Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the situation around 11 p.m. on Saturday, when it was discovered that Wade Scott Heth, a 35-year-old man from Wagner, was missing from the facility.

Heth, who was on a furlough from the county jail for chemical dependency, was being held by the sheriff’s office for false Impersonation with intent to deceive law enforcement, possession of a firearm by former violent offender (felon), a parole hold, and several warrants from Charles Mix County.

Authorities have advised the public not to approach Heth if spotted, but to immediately contact law enforcement. The search for Heth is ongoing, with local law enforcement agencies working together to locate and apprehend the escaped individual..
