In a tragic incident on Sunday morning, a Palestinian man lost his life and a child was injured during a raid by Zionist Occupation Forces (ZOF) in Balata refugee camp, situated east of Nablus in the West Bank.
The deceased, identified as 27-year-old Samer Rummanah, succumbed to a critical bullet wound to his head, as confirmed by medical sources. Additionally, a 16-year-old child sustained a bullet injury to his back and was promptly evacuated to the hospital by a Red Crescent ambulance crew.
The Lion’s Den resistance group mourned the loss of martyr Rummanah, acknowledging him as one of its fighters in Balata camp. The group stated that he tragically lost his life during clashes with Israeli forces.
According to local sources, Israeli troops entered the eastern area of al-Quds street in Nablus City and Balata camp, leading to intense gunfire exchanges with local youths during the clashes. Israeli snipers were strategically positioned on the rooftops of buildings in Nablus and Balata camp, while military bulldozers were deployed to disrupt roads and infrastructure.
During the tumultuous events, resistance fighters reportedly engaged in a firefight with Israeli soldiers and detonated an explosive device targeting a bulldozer.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing tensions and violence in the region, further highlighting the need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
