LEOMINSTER — A Fitchburg resident is facing murder charges while two others are being charged with assault and battery in connection with a fatal stabbing incident at an apartment complex in Leominster.
Details of the Incident
On Tuesday, May 7, just before 1 a.m., authorities responded to reports of a stabbing outside the Riverside Village apartment on State Street. Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Robert Wright-Day with a stab wound. Despite being rushed to Leominster Hospital, Wright-Day was pronounced dead.
Arrests Made
Following an investigation, Juan Diaz Contreras, aged 19, was arrested without any issues on Thursday night at his residence in Fitchburg. Two other individuals, Edgar K. Perez-Tuero, 21, from Gardner, and Christian Joel Santiago, 19, from Leominster, were also apprehended on warrants related to the case.
All three suspects were scheduled to appear in Fitchburg District Court for their arraignment on Friday.
Collaborative Investigation
The Worcester County District Attorney’s office, along with the Fitchburg and Leominster Police departments, have been actively involved in the investigation. Additionally, State Police detectives assigned to the Worcester DA, the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, State Police Crime Scene Services, and State Police forensic experts have played crucial roles in the case.
