Omaha Police are currently investigating a tragic stabbing incident that resulted in the death of a teenage girl in the city. The incident took place on N 53rd Street around 3 a.m., with initial reports labeling it as a nature unknown.
Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement officers were informed that a person had been stabbed and was in need of urgent medical attention. The victim, identified as 17-year-old Ezra Sinkiawic, was quickly transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center by a private vehicle.
Witnesses present at the scene provided valuable information to the officers, leading to the apprehension of the suspect, 18-year-old Kianna Opal. Opal was taken into custody without any resistance and was subsequently transported to the OPD Headquarters for further questioning.
Tragically, despite efforts to save her, Sinkiawic succumbed to her injuries and passed away. As a result, Opal has been booked into the Douglas County Corrections facility and is facing charges of criminal homicide and the use of a knife as a weapon in connection with the ongoing investigation.
