Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a shocking turn of events, Kane County prosecutors have charged a man after human remains of a missing person were discovered inside a home in Hampshire Township, Illinois.
The investigation was initiated on April 4 by the Crystal Lake Police Department following the disappearance of James Cromwell, 57, as reported by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
After a thorough investigation, human remains were unearthed on May 7 within a residence located in the 45W200 block of Illinois Route 72. Subsequently, the remains were identified as belonging to Cromwell.
According to the Kane County Coroner’s Office, Cromwell had succumbed to a gunshot wound, with the manner of death classified as a homicide.
Further details emerged as detectives uncovered evidence and executed search warrants in the 600 block of North Falls Circle in Pingree Grove.
The individual in question, Ottesen, has been charged with multiple serious offences including three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon, one count of aggravated unlawful restraint, and one count of concealment of a homicidal death, as stated by the state’s attorney’s office.
