Accident – Death – Obituary News :

On the night of May 10, officers from the Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force took swift action following reports of gunshots in the Roxbury neighbourhood. The incident led to the arrest of 21-year-old Giovanni Aleo, a resident of Everett, on firearm charges.

At approximately 10:04 p.m., law enforcement responded to a shot spotter activation and a 911 call alerting them to gunfire in the vicinity of 2721 Washington Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers immediately began searching for any potential victims, suspects, or witnesses.

During their search, officers noticed a male individual walking away from the area where the gunshots were reported. As they approached the man, later identified as Giovanni Aleo, he attempted to flee from the scene. A foot chase ensued, during which officers observed Aleo in possession of a firearm.

Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, Aleo discarded the firearm onto Washington Street before being apprehended at the intersection with Dale Street. The firearm, identified as a Smith and Wesson MP, was found to have a round in the chamber, seventeen rounds in the magazine, and a serial number that had been tampered with.

Giovanni Aleo now faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and defacement of a firearm serial number. He is set to appear for arraignment in Roxbury District Court to answer for these charges.
