MINER, Mo. (KFVS) – A man hailing from Mississippi sustained injuries in a motorcycle collision in Scott County, Missouri.

The incident, as per the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Reports, occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. The motorcyclist was travelling southbound on Interstate 55, just three miles north of Miner, Missouri.

The crash transpired when the 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle veered off the left side of the road and overturned.

The injured rider has been identified as Derrick Johnson, a 43-year-old resident of Brandon, Mississippi. Following the accident, Johnson was airlifted by Air EVAC to Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee for treatment of moderate injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Johnson was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the cause of the crash.
