Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A woman in Fort Lupton is facing a pair of felony charges after police discovered her in possession of distribution-level amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl at a local gas station earlier this month.

The 27-year-old suspect, identified as Cheyenne Anastasia, was arrested on May 1 following a routine check by law enforcement officers. During the arrest, drug paraphernalia was found in a vehicle Anastasia was driving, prompting a thorough search that uncovered 146 grams of meth and 51.3 grams of fentanyl-laced blue pills.

Police Encounter

The incident took place just before 1 a.m. when police noticed a grey Audi A4 parked erratically in front of a convenience store on Second Street in Fort Lupton. Anastasia was the sole occupant of the vehicle, which raised suspicions of a possible criminal activity.

Upon approaching the vehicle, law enforcement officers observed that the Audi lacked proper license plates, with only a temporary tag from Arizona displayed on the rear window. Further inspection revealed drug-related items inside the car, including burnt tin foil with residue consistent with fentanyl use.

Drug Seizure

Following the discovery of drug paraphernalia, police conducted a thorough search of the vehicle and unearthed two plastic bags containing a substantial amount of crystal meth and blue fentanyl pills. The substances tested positive in presumptive tests and weighed 146 grams and 51.3 grams, respectively.

Additional items found in the Audi included syringes, tin foil squares with burnt residue, and prescription bottles bearing Anastasia’s name. Despite initial claims that the drugs belonged to her brother, Anastasia denied any knowledge of the illicit substances.

Legal Proceedings

Subsequently, Anastasia was taken into custody and booked at the Weld County Jail without incident. She is scheduled for a disposition hearing on May 31 at the Weld District Court. Additionally, Anastasia faces a separate legal battle after pleading guilty to introducing contraband into the Adams County Jail, with sentencing set for June 6.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the source and distribution network of the seized drugs, with potential further charges pending against Anastasia. The case underscores the ongoing battle against substance abuse and trafficking in the Fort Lupton area.
