Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Thiruvananthapuram: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded on Saturday as a 13-year-old boy, identified as Arun from Malayinkeezhu, tragically drowned in the Karamana River at Peyad. The young boy had gone to the river for a bath with his father, Anilkumar, and brother, Krishnaprasad. The unfortunate incident occurred around 12 pm at the Aruvippuram ghat, situated approximately eight kilometres from their residence.
Arun was swept away by the powerful undercurrents of the river, despite the valiant efforts of local residents to rescue him. Their attempts proved futile, leading them to alert the fire and rescue team. Subsequently, Arun’s lifeless body was retrieved from the river, and it has been placed in the morgue at SK Hospital in Edapazhanji.
The Vattiyoorkavu police have initiated an investigation into the incident and have registered a case accordingly. The family is set to receive Arun’s body following the completion of the postmortem examination scheduled for Sunday.
