Suspect arrested after breaking into vehicle following bank visit

A suspect has been taken into custody by authorities after allegedly breaking into a vehicle that had just visited a bank to withdraw cash.

In a coordinated effort earlier this week, the Rosenberg Police Department’s Strategic Enforcement Team, Traffic Unit, and Criminal Investigation Division worked alongside the Sugar Land Police Department, Houston Police Department, and Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office to apprehend a suspected bank jugger operating within the city limits of Rosenberg.

A bank jugger is an individual who monitors people leaving banks with the intention of robbing them at their next destination, often by breaking into their vehicles or through direct robbery.

Following the investigation, Arnold Rollings, a 30-year-old resident of Humble, was identified as the suspect. Rollings was observed tailing a vehicle leaving a bank until it parked at its next location. Seizing the opportunity when the driver was away, Rollings forcefully entered the vehicle and stole a bank bag, as reported by Rosenberg police. When officers tried to apprehend him, Rollings engaged in a vehicular pursuit, eventually coming to a stop in the 2100 block of Preston Street in the city of Richmond. He then fled on foot towards the Brazos River, but was swiftly captured by law enforcement hiding in nearby woods without further incident.

Rollings now faces charges of burglary of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a criminal instrument, and evading arrest in a motor vehicle, with a total bond set at £50,000.
