Abdulazeez Idris, a young man from Kaduna, has been accused of a heinous crime involving the kidnapping, murder, and disposal of the body of his six-year-old niece, Aisha Saidu.
The tragic incident took place in Angwan Juma’a, Zaria, Zaria local government area of Kaduna State on February 12, 2024. Aisha was on her way to evening Islamic school when she was reportedly abducted by her ‘cousin’, Abdulazeez Idris.
The suspect allegedly demanded a ransom of N8 million from the girl’s parents. However, due to their financial constraints, they were unable to meet his demands. As a result, Aisha remained in the custody of her ‘cousin’ for approximately five days.
After the young girl’s disappearance, her father, Mr. Saidu Dahiru, reported the matter to the police. The Kaduna State Police Command, led by ASP Mansir Hassan, launched an investigation into the case.
Following leads and evidence, the police were able to track down and apprehend Abdulazeez Idris in Makarfi Local Government. The suspect confessed to the crime, admitting to brutally slashing Aisha’s neck with a razor blade before disposing of her body in a well.

Commissioner of Police, Audu Ali Dabigi, has assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated to ensure justice is served for Aisha Saidu and her grieving family. Once the investigation is complete, Abdulazeez Idris will be charged and brought to court.
