On the afternoon of 11th May 2024, a tragic incident unfolded at Deep Water Bay Beach in Hong Kong, as an 89-year-old man, Mr. Ng, was suspected of drowning while swimming near the shore. Despite prompt rescue efforts by the police and lifeguards, Mr. Ng tragically did not survive the ordeal.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 4.30pm when Mr. Ng encountered difficulties while swimming approximately 5 meters from the shore. After approximately 15 minutes of on-site treatment, Mr. Ng was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital for further medical attention.
