Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident unfolded in Sector 82 near a private university on Thursday night, where a 24-year-old man lost his life in a heinous act of murder. The victim, identified as Karanbir Singh, a resident of United Society in Sector 68, met a brutal end due to a quarrel over a woman. Karanbir, whose family hails from Nakodar town in Jalandhar district, resided with his parents in Mohali and worked on a contract basis at the RTO office.
The authorities swiftly responded to the incident, with DSP (city-2) Harsimran Singh Bal confirming that a case has been registered under sections 302 (murder) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Aero City Police station. The preliminary investigation pointed towards a dispute between the victim and the perpetrators, resulting in Karanbir being strangled to death by the culprits.
It was revealed that the accused individuals transported Karanbir to a private hospital in Sohana in their vehicle. However, upon learning of Karanbir’s demise, they fled the scene, abandoning the car. DSP Bal highlighted that the authorities possess CCTV footage from the hospital, aiding in the identification and pursuit of the suspects.
The complainant in the case, Pritpal Singh, narrated receiving distressing news on Thursday regarding Karanbir being left at a hospital in Sohana, where he succumbed to his injuries. Pritpal disclosed that one of the individuals involved in the incident was Prabal Tytus, accompanied by an unidentified accomplice. The motive behind the brutal act was traced back to Prabal’s resentment towards Karanbir’s relationship with a female student at the adjacent private university in Sector 82, sparking the fatal altercation.
As the investigation unfolds, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for justice.
