The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Eric Gonzalez, has been taken into custody and charged with vehicular homicide, driving while impaired, and careless operation of a motor vehicle in connection with the tragic incident.

The victim, 42-year-old Jarius Pratt, was walking along the shoulder of Gause Boulevard when he was struck by Gonzalez’s red 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Despite being rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, Pratt succumbed to his injuries and tragically passed away.
