WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Authorities in Wallingford have taken a 41-year-old man into custody following a shooting incident that occurred as a result of a dispute.

The individual in question has been identified as Donald Lubanda. He faces charges including first-degree criminal attempt of assault, illegal discharge of a firearm, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

The altercation began on the evening of May 4th at approximately 10:30 PM when law enforcement officers were called to 304 Parker Farms Road in response to a criminal mischief complaint. It was reported that a juvenile had used a BB gun to damage a vehicle by shooting out its back window and slashing one of its tires.

Further investigation revealed that the incident was linked to a dispute between the involved parties at another location in town. Police were dispatched to the scene to intervene and prevent any escalation of the situation.

According to reports, Lubanda allegedly fired multiple rounds at the vehicle of the individual involved in the criminal mischief complaint, striking it a total of five times.

Following his arrest, Lubanda was released on a $150,000 surety bond. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment at the Meriden courthouse on May 23rd at 9:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the initial incident involving the juvenile remains ongoing as authorities work to gather further details.
