CLAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Tragedy struck in Clayton, Ohio on Thursday, May 9, as one person lost their life in a single vehicle crash. The incident occurred at approximately 1:46 p.m. on SR. 48 near Old Salem Road.

Dayton OSP reported that the driver of a 2013 Lexus RX was initially traveling southbound but veered left of center towards the northbound lanes. The vehicle then swerved off the east roadside, colliding with a sign and a tree, ultimately causing it to overturn.

The driver, identified as 64-year-old Randy Duncan, was rushed to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene and were assisted by the City of Clayton Police Department, City of Clayton Fire/EMS, and Red Baron Towing.

Dayton OSP is currently conducting an investigation into the crash to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
