BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Bradley County Sheriff’s Office deputies successfully located a runaway 13-year-old girl from Florida with the assistance of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday, May 5, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office contacted Bradley County authorities with information on the possible whereabouts of the missing teenager. Acting swiftly on the lead, deputies discovered the girl in the front seat of a vehicle at a Love’s Truck Stop on Lower River Road in Charleston.

According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, the juvenile was found unharmed and not physically restrained. However, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Mario Castro Arzate, was taken into custody by authorities.

Further investigation revealed that Arzate had picked up the teen in Florida and was in the process of driving her to New York City. As a result, Bradley County authorities have charged Arzate with kidnapping.
