Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A 52-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her transgender live-in partner in Bengaluru, officials confirmed on Friday. The victim, identified as Manju Naik, aged 42, was found dead at their residence in the Murugeshpalya neighbourhood of eastern Bengaluru on May 3. The accused woman, named Prema, was living with Manju at the time of the incident.

The discovery of Manju’s decomposed body was made after neighbours reported a foul odour emanating from the couple’s home. Following a preliminary investigation, Prema was taken into custody by the Bengaluru Police.

According to police reports, Manju had transitioned from male to female and had been in a relationship with Prema for two decades. The tragic incident occurred on April 26 when a drunken Manju allegedly initiated a physical altercation with Prema. In self-defence, Prema used a towel to strangle Manju after being threatened with a knife.

DCP East of Bengaluru Police, Kuldeep Kumar, commented on the case, stating, “There was a foul smell emanating from the house, which led to the discovery of the crime.” A case has been registered under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and further investigations are ongoing.
