SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – In the early hours of Friday morning, a man was apprehended in Shreveport after engaging in a high-speed chase with law enforcement officers in a stolen vehicle.

At approximately 3:00 a.m. on Friday, Shreveport police officers endeavoured to halt a vehicle that had been reported as stolen in a different municipality.

The driver of the stolen vehicle evaded the officers and initiated a pursuit, which culminated in a crash before the driver attempted to flee on foot.

With the assistance of officers and K-9 Edy, the suspect was successfully apprehended by the authorities.

The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Lugene Metcalf, received medical treatment for injuries sustained during the pursuit. Metcalf is now confronting a range of charges, including aggravated flight, unlawful possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm as a felon, and domestic abuse battery.
