One individual has been taken into custody following a high-speed chase that spanned across Cass and Fulton counties in Indiana. The incident unfolded on Thursday evening when Indiana State Police Trooper Dustin Smith noticed a yellow motorcycle travelling on State Road 25 in Cass County without its taillight illuminated. The rider, later identified as Jamie Corbin, 43, from Rochester, failed to comply with Trooper Smith’s attempt to pull him over.

Despite Trooper Smith’s efforts to stop the motorcycle near County Road 900 North, the rider continued to evade capture, leading to a pursuit that reached speeds of up to 80 miles per hour on various roadways in Cass and Fulton counties. The chase eventually came to a halt at County Road 950 South in Fulton County, where Corbin abandoned the motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by law enforcement.

Upon searching the motorcycle, authorities discovered a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, further complicating the situation. During the ensuing investigation, Trooper Smith gathered evidence suggesting that Corbin was under the influence of substances at the time of the incident. As a result, Corbin was taken to a local hospital for a certified test before being transferred to Fulton County Jail.

Additional inquiries revealed that Corbin had two active warrants issued against him in Howard County, adding to the list of charges he now faces in connection with the pursuit and subsequent events.

Trooper Smith received support from fellow officers at the scene, including personnel from the Peru Post and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, in handling the situation and ensuring public safety.
