New Delhi, May 10, 2024 – An eight-year-old girl was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a 28-year-old man in South Delhi, police confirmed on Friday. The accused, identified as Arjun alias Umar, a resident of Andheria Mod in the Mehrauli area, has been taken into custody.
Kidnapping and Assault Incident
Police received a distress call on May 6, reporting the kidnapping of the young girl from Uday Chand Marg. The father of the victim, a resident of Wazir Nagar, informed the authorities that his daughter had been taken by an unknown individual.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Law enforcement officials launched a thorough investigation, analyzing CCTV footage from various locations in the vicinity. Through meticulous examination, the suspect was identified and traced back to South Ex-1 Bus Stop, where he had taken the girl in the same direction. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Arjun from his residence in Andheria Mod, and the safe rescue of the victim.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to luring the girl to his residence under the pretense of making glass toys. He admitted to selling her belongings for personal gain and sexually assaulting her.
