Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A man has been arrested in White County, Arkansas on charges of trafficking a person and internet stalking of a child, according to the White County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident began when the Beebe School District Police Department received a report that a juvenile had not made it to the school bus stop as expected. School resource officers were able to locate the juvenile safely shortly after.
Further investigation by deputies revealed that an adult male had picked up the juvenile and dropped her off at the location where she was found. Evidence suggested that the male had inappropriate contact with the juvenile.
The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Thomas Jordan from New Hampshire, attempted to flee the area upon learning of the investigation. He traveled to Memphis International Airport in an attempt to board a flight to Orlando, Florida.
White County Sheriff’s detectives, along with DEA agents, the United States Air Marshall’s Service, and the Memphis Police Department, worked together to locate and arrest Jordan at the airport.
Following his arrest, additional information was obtained, leading officers from the Arkansas division of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to contact the New Hampshire ICAC division for further investigation.
Jordan is currently being held at the White County Detention Center as the investigation continues. The sheriff’s office expects additional charges to be filed.
