Accident – Death – Obituary News :

May 8—WILKES-BARRE — The Luzerne County coroner’s office has identified the victim of a fatal stabbing in Wilkes-Barre as Scott Edward Knox, 33, of the same city. Knox was found with multiple stab wounds and sadly succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

An autopsy conducted by the coroner’s office confirmed that Knox’s cause of death was indeed the result of the multiple stab wounds he had sustained. The tragic incident has been ruled as a homicide.

The Wilkes-Barre Police Department responded to reports of a stabbing in the vicinity of 377 S. River St. in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Knox was discovered behind a residence in that area and was promptly attended to by emergency medical technicians before being rushed to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township, where he tragically passed away.

Authorities believe that the stabbing took place near the Mofon Lounge situated at the intersection of Academy and South River Streets and Carey Avenue. The area was cordoned off to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic as troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop P, Forensic Services Unit, processed the scene for evidence.

Evidence markers were placed on the ground, indicating a trail of blood spatter from behind the night club leading to South River Street, spanning approximately 100 yards. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Knox’s death is still ongoing.

City police Detective Joseph Sinavage is appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the investigation. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact Detective Sinavage at 570-208-6676.
