The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has apprehended a 45-year-old cleric, Prophet Olayinka Ajiboye, for the alleged defilement of three teenage girls in Agah village, located in Ilorin South local government area of Kwara state. The arrest took place on Tuesday following reports of the cleric’s illicit activities.
Serial Rapist Allegations
Prophet Olayinka Ajiboye has been described as a serial rapist, with accusations of sexually assaulting minors aged between 13 and 17 in Agah Village. The state command of NSCDC had been monitoring the cleric’s activities closely before finally apprehending him on May 7th, 2024.
Public Outcry
ASC Ayoola Michael, the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC in Kwara State, confirmed the arrest of the cleric and revealed that several complaints had been lodged against him for his nefarious deeds. One victim, Joy Godfrey, bravely came forward to report the incident, shedding light on the horrifying details of her ordeal at the hands of Prophet Olayinka Ajiboye.
Victims Speak Out
Another victim, whose identity has been withheld, shared her traumatic experience of being impregnated by the cleric and forced to undergo a dangerous abortion procedure. The third victim, also a member of the church, recounted how she was threatened into silence by the suspect after being defiled at the age of 13.
Confession and Prosecution
The suspect has confessed to his crimes, attributing them to the influence of evil forces. The Kwara NSCDC State Commandant, Dr Umar J.G. Mohammed, has expressed deep concern over the incident and has instructed the Gender Unit to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that justice is served.
