Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A Longmont man has been taken into custody following a tragic incident that resulted in the death of another individual. Nestor Omar Arellano-Almazan, aged 30, was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide, DUI, and failure to report an accident to the authorities. The victim in this case has been identified as Joshua Larrin, aged 39, from Longmont.

The Weld County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the official identity of the victim, but Longmont Public Safety spokesperson Robin Ericson has confirmed that Arellano-Almazan and Larrin were the individuals involved in the fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning.

Details of the Incident

According to Ericson, the incident took place at 12:46 a.m. on Saturday when officers responded to a crash just east of East County Line Road. It is believed that Larrin was riding a stolen motorcycle on Ken Pratt Boulevard when he was struck by Arellano-Almazan, who was making a turn in his pickup truck onto Timm Way.

Tragically, Larrin lost his life at the scene, and Arellano-Almazan was subsequently arrested and taken to Weld County Jail. Authorities suspect that Arellano-Almazan was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.

Ericson also mentioned that the motorcycle involved in the crash had been reported stolen from Longmont.

Legal Proceedings and Investigations

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is currently unable to provide any further information regarding the incident until formal charges are filed against the suspect on May 15. Krista Henerey, the community relations director for the 19th Judicial District, confirmed this delay in disclosure.

Arellano-Almazan’s booking photo is not yet available to the public, as he remains in custody at the Weld County Jail as per court documents.
