Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A resident of Wausau, Christopher Taylor, has been formally charged with the serious offence of fleeing from law enforcement in Dodge County. Taylor is facing a felony charge of Fleeing after a dramatic chase that spanned across multiple counties.

The incident unfolded when a sheriff’s deputy in Dodge County received information that authorities in Fond du Lac County were in pursuit of a vehicle back in March. The suspect’s vehicle had initially evaded a traffic stop in Marathon County.

Upon spotting the suspect vehicle travelling south on Interstate 41 at a dangerously high speed, the Dodge County deputy attempted to deploy tire deflation devices to stop the fleeing driver. However, these efforts proved unsuccessful as the chase escalated.

According to the complaint filed, the pursuit continued along Interstate 41 with speeds reaching between 100 to 110 miles per hour. Despite a second attempt to deflate the suspect’s tires, the driver managed to evade the authorities, prompting Dodge County deputies to terminate the pursuit after covering approximately seven miles.

Subsequently, a Washington County sheriff’s deputy took over the chase, with the assistance of a vigilant Germantown police officer who was able to successfully apprehend the fleeing vehicle. The driver was then identified as Christopher Taylor, a 20-year-old individual.

If convicted, Taylor could face a maximum sentence of up to three and a half years in prison for his actions. An initial court appearance for the accused is scheduled for Monday, where further details of the case will be revealed.
