Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Police in Mumbai have apprehended two vendors in connection with the tragic death of a 19-year-old man who fell ill after consuming chicken shawarma purchased from their stall. The victim, identified as Prathamesh Bhokse, bought the food item from the accused vendors in the Trombay area on May 3.

After experiencing severe stomach ache and vomiting on May 4, Bhokse sought medical attention at a local municipal hospital. However, his condition worsened, prompting his family to rush him to the civic-run KEM Hospital on May 5.

Despite receiving treatment and being discharged, Bhokse’s health continued to deteriorate. He was readmitted to KEM Hospital on Sunday evening, where doctors discovered the severity of his condition. Tragically, Bhokse passed away the following day.

Authorities at the hospital promptly alerted the police, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The two vendors, identified as Anand Kamble and Ahmed Sheikh, were subsequently arrested and charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of food safety and regulations in the food industry. Consumers must remain vigilant and cautious when purchasing and consuming food from street vendors to avoid potential health risks.
