Cody James Denewith, a 26-year-old resident of Milwaukie, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the death of Nathan Dean Anderson, a 25-year-old man from Oregon City. The incident took place on April 29 near the intersection of 90th Avenue and St. Helens Street in Clackamas County.
Authorities from the Clackamas Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 5:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Nathan Dean Anderson with a gunshot wound. Anderson was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Following an intensive investigation, detectives were able to establish a connection between the victim and the suspect, leading to the identification of Cody James Denewith as the primary suspect in the case. Denewith was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody, with charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon being levied against him. He is currently being held without bail at the Clackamas County Jail.
