Lucas Warren : Tragic Death of Boy, 4, in Texas Floodwaters

A tragic incident unfolded in Texas as a four-year-old boy, Lucas Warren, was found dead after being swept away from his parents by floodwaters during a severe storm.

The heartbreaking event occurred when the boy and his parents were in a vehicle that became trapped in floodwaters early Sunday on County Road 528 in Burleson, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Reports indicate that a 911 caller around 2 am alerted authorities that the child, along with a woman and a man, tried to navigate the flooding by walking on dry ground but were overwhelmed by the rising waters.

Following an exhaustive search in the flooded area, Lucas Warren’s lifeless body was discovered a couple of hours later, leaving his grieving mother, Chelsey Warren, devastated.

Describing Lucas as her ‘everything’, Chelsey Warren expressed her profound loss, stating, ‘I can’t sleep without him. I can’t, I do everything with him.’

Recalling the harrowing ordeal, Warren shared that they had visited family members in Johnson County on Saturday night and were on their way home early Sunday when their vehicle got stuck in the water.

She recounted the terrifying moment when the car began filling up with water, leading them to remove Lucas from his car seat in a desperate attempt to escape the rapidly rising floodwaters.

Despite her efforts to keep Lucas afloat in the water, Warren and her husband were separated by the strong current, eventually resulting in the tragic loss of their beloved son.

Subsequently, Warren was rescued by a boat and taken to a hospital, where she received the devastating news of Lucas’ passing. She described the moment as heart-wrenching, stating, ‘And he looked really peaceful and that all of his clothes weren’t ripped. He looks like he just went to sleep.’
