The Baltimore County Police Department has announced the recovery of the body of a sixth victim from the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old José Mynor López from Baltimore, according to a statement released on X (formerly Twitter).

The discovery of José Mynor López comes after officials successfully retrieved the body of the fifth person who lost their life in the bridge collapse. The incident occurred when a cargo ship lost power and collided with a support column of the bridge. All six construction workers who were initially reported missing and presumed dead have now been found.

Colonel Roland L. Butler, Jr., Superintendent of the Maryland Department of State Police, expressed his condolences and stated, “With heavy hearts, today marks a significant milestone in our recovery efforts and providing closure to the loved ones of the six workers who lost their lives in this tragic event.”

Officials have informed the family members of José Mynor López following the confirmation of his identification. A total of eight construction workers were present on the bridge at the time of the collapse, with two being rescued, two confirmed dead, and the remaining four presumed dead.
