Accident – Death – Obituary News :

On Sunday, Bellefontaine Police officers noticed a suspicious driver as he pulled into a gas station on Sandusky Avenue. The driver, upon making eye contact with the officers, quickly averted his gaze, raising suspicion.

Upon inspecting the vehicle, authorities discovered that the license plates were expired, and the vehicle was registered to an individual residing in Cincinnati. This raised further red flags for the officers.

Approaching the driver, who was later identified as 30-year-old Jordon Bailey of Bellefontaine, the officers requested identification. Bailey claimed to have left his wallet at home and mentioned that he had just purchased the vehicle earlier that day.

During the interaction, Bailey provided a false name, identifying himself as “Johnny Newman.” Additionally, he falsely named the passenger in his vehicle.

However, the passenger eventually revealed the true identity of the driver to the police, leading Bailey to admit that he had falsified his identity due to an existing warrant for his arrest from a prior incident.

As a result of his actions, Bailey was charged with identity fraud, falsification, obstructing official business, and operating a vehicle without a license. He was subsequently taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Jail.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the law and the consequences of attempting to deceive law enforcement authorities.
