Accident – Death – Obituary News :

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 29-year-old man has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting a couple while they were sleeping inside an abandoned apartment in northwest Miami-Dade earlier this year.

Johnthan Travon Williams, 29, of Miami, is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, according to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Police Department.

The incident took place near the 6700 block of Northwest 26th Avenue, where police responded to a shooting call just before 1 a.m. on Jan. 6.

Upon arrival, officers found 25-year-old Isaac Patrick Hepburn and 30-year-old Johneisha Kelveisha Mabry suffering from gunshot wounds.

Hepburn was captured on exclusive Ring camera video yelling for help and requesting an ambulance after the shooting.

He explained to the authorities that he had a previous argument with two men at the apartment, leading to one of them, later identified as Williams, pulling out a gun and shooting Hepburn and his girlfriend.

Hepburn sustained gunshot wounds to his left hip and left arm, while Mabry was shot in her back and right arm.

Both victims were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment of their injuries.

Following the shooting, police conducted an audio-recorded interview with Hepburn at the hospital, where he detailed the events leading up to the incident.

According to Hepburn, the altercation stemmed from a dispute over property with another man prior to the shooting.

Investigators learned that Williams and an accomplice confronted Hepburn and Mabry at the abandoned apartment complex, resulting in a violent altercation.

Williams forcibly removed a gold chain from Hepburn’s neck, and his accomplice instructed him to shoot the victims, leading to the injuries sustained by Hepburn and Mabry.

Mabry later informed detectives that she was acquainted with Williams and his accomplice from her neighborhood.

An anonymous tip received by the police helped identify Williams as the suspect in the case, leading to his arrest.

Court records revealed that Williams had a prior criminal history and was confirmed as a convicted felon, having been charged with robbery with a deadly weapon in a separate incident.

Williams was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Miami-Dade County Pre-Trial Detention Center.

Authorities have not disclosed any additional arrests in connection with the case, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this time.
