CHERRYTREE TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A 22-year-old woman from Titusville, Pennsylvania, is currently in police custody after allegedly assaulting her mother in Cherrytree Township.

Court documents reveal that Elizabeth Demuro, a resident of Titusville, was charged by the Franklin-based State Police and the case was filed at District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on Saturday, May 4.

Reports state that troopers from PSP Franklin were called to the 2700 block of State Route 8 in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, in response to a domestic disturbance at approximately 12:08 p.m. on the same day.

Upon their arrival, a female victim, known to the authorities, informed them that her daughter, identified as Elizabeth Demuro, was under the influence of alcohol and was attempting to leave the premises on their ATV. The victim tried to intervene and stop her daughter, at which point Demuro allegedly grabbed her mother’s right arm and struck her in the face.

The victim reportedly suffered swelling and bruising under her right arm and right cheek as a result of the assault.

Charges and Bail

Elizabeth Demuro was arraigned on the evening of May 4, at 6:05 p.m., in front of District Judge Patrick Lowrey. She is facing a charge of Simple Assault, classified as a Misdemeanor 2.

Following the arraignment, Demuro was remanded to the Venango County Prison with bail being denied. The reason cited for denying bail was that she “will not obey conditions of a court order.”

Court Proceedings

A preliminary hearing for Elizabeth Demuro has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, at the Venango County Central Court.
