LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A heartbreaking incident unfolded at Sand Hollow State Park on Saturday, resulting in the tragic death of an 18-year-old individual, identified as Christian Jeffrey Fisher from Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to park officials, the unfortunate incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. when Fisher was swimming in the dive park area with his friends. Witnesses reported that Fisher appeared to struggle to keep his head above water before suddenly disappearing beneath the surface.
Concerned for their friend’s safety, Fisher’s companions immediately called for help. Utah State Parks law enforcement rangers, along with Washington County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue and Hurricane City Police Department, swiftly responded to the scene.
Despite efforts to rescue Fisher, authorities were unable to save him, and his lifeless body was recovered from the water. It was revealed that Fisher was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.
In a statement released by the Utah Division of State Parks, authorities extended their heartfelt condolences to Fisher’s grieving family and friends.
