CLOVIS, N.M. — The Clovis Police Department revealed crucial details on Monday regarding the suspect involved in the abduction of an infant following a tragic double homicide just north of Clovis on May 3. The suspect has been identified as Alek Collins, a 26-year-old individual from Houston.

The Clovis Police Department reported that Collins and 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres were discovered at a residence in Abilene. It was noted by authorities that the suspect seemed to have no prior connection to the victims.

Initial police response took place at Ned Houk Park, situated five miles north of Clovis, around 4:26 p.m. The bodies of Samantha “Harley” Cisneros and Taryn Allen, both 23-year-old individuals from Texico, were found lifeless with gunshot wounds outside of a silver minivan. A 5-year-old girl was also discovered with a gunshot wound to her head and was subsequently transported to a hospital in Lubbock. Additionally, baby Eleia was reported missing. Cisneros is identified as the mother of both children.

According to the police statement, the group had made a stop at Twin Cronnie’s to collect food before proceeding to Dollar Tree located in the 3900 block of North Prince Street and eventually heading to the park. A witness who was present in the park at the time reportedly heard gunshots but failed to immediately inform law enforcement.
