Court documents have shed light on the sequence of events leading to the arrest of the suspect in a horrifying double murder and kidnapping case in Clovis, New Mexico.

The incident unfolded on Friday, May 3, at around 4:25 p.m. when Clovis Police Dispatch received a distressing call reporting two women lying on the ground and a crying child at Ned Houk Park.

Upon arriving at the scene, an officer discovered 23-year-old Samantha Cisneros and 23-year-old Taryn Allen from Texico, New Mexico, in a critical condition near a silver minivan.

The officer also found a 5-year-old girl on the ground, who was later rushed to a Lubbock hospital with a gunshot wound to her head, where she remained in critical condition.

In addition, there were clues scattered around the scene, including a baby bottle, a stroller, and a maroon car part, indicating a possible abduction.

Witnesses reported seeing the women lying on the ground and hearing gunshots earlier in the day, prompting the Clovis Police Department to contact the New Mexico State Police and issue an Amber Alert for 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres.

Subsequent investigations by FBI agents revealed crucial evidence, including surveillance footage from a Dollar Tree store showing the victims with the children, as well as phone records placing the suspect, Alek Collins, at the scene.

Further analysis of cell phone data and GPS tracking led authorities to Collins, who was apprehended in Abilene, Texas, where he was found with the missing infant and a firearm.

During questioning, Collins confessed to taking the baby but denied involvement in the shootings, leading to his arrest on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and child abuse.

In addition to the charges in Clovis, Collins is also facing accusations of aggravated robbery and assault against a public servant in Abilene.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact the Clovis Police Department at (575) 763-9472.
