Accident – Death – Obituary News :

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- An accidental shooting in Odessa last week took a surprising turn when investigators discovered alleged drug activity in the hotel room of the victims. Tiffany Self and Anthony Self have been charged with multiple drug offenses, including Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. In addition, Anthony is facing a charge of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

According to a report from the Odessa Police Department, officers responded to a call at Odessa Regional Medical Center in the early hours of May 3. Tiffany, the victim, had sustained a gunshot wound and was being treated at the hospital. However, she was uncooperative with investigators, hindering their initial inquiries.

Knowing that Tiffany frequented the Odessa Motor Inn on East 2nd Street, officers visited the motel to gather more information. A blood trail led them to a specific room where they encountered Anthony, Tiffany’s husband. Anthony claimed that an unidentified man had shot Tiffany after knocking on their door that morning.

Inside the couple’s motel room, authorities discovered a spent cartridge case and additional blood. In a nearby dumpster, they found firearms, a jail bond receipt with Tiffany and Anthony’s names, and a significant quantity of ecstasy tablets and methamphetamine.

A search warrant was obtained for the room, resulting in the seizure of drug paraphernalia, over three pounds of ecstasy, 10.5 grams of methamphetamines, and 92 grams of cocaine, alongside scales and packaging material used for drug distribution.

During a subsequent interview, Anthony confessed that he accidentally shot Tiffany while responding to a suspected break-in. He also admitted to selling drugs from their motel room. Despite Tiffany’s silence, Anthony’s statements led to their arrest and detention at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

Tiffany’s bond is set at $75,000, while Anthony faces a combined bond of $125,000 along with a US Marshal hold. The investigation into this incident continues as law enforcement aims to uncover the full extent of the alleged drug operation.
