Accident – Death – Obituary News :

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — In a show of solidarity and remembrance, surfers gathered in Ensenada, Mexico, on Sunday to honor the three international surfers who tragically lost their lives on a surfing trip. The somber event was marked by surfers paddling out and holding signs that read, “I don’t want to die,” just a few miles away from where the bodies of the missing Australian and American surfers were discovered in a well.

Expressing their concerns about safety in the area, one protestor stated, “We are surfers and sometimes we want to surf alone, but we never do it unless we have company. Their fate serves as an example of the insecurity we face. We need more safety measures in place.”

Meanwhile, approximately 100 miles north of Ensenada, more than a hundred friends and family members gathered at Point Loma Nazarene University’s soccer field for a candlelight vigil in memory of the three men. At the vigil, the surfers were fondly remembered for their selflessness and exceptional character.

According to Rhoad’s LinkedIn page, he pursued a career in professional soccer in Guatemala after graduating from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2014. Additionally, he founded an apparel company called Loma Apparel. Rhoad was recently promoted to the position of Assistant Soccer Coach at the university and resided in Ocean Beach. He was engaged and preparing to tie the knot in August.

On the other hand, Callum Robinson, as per his LinkedIn page, graduated from Stevenson University in Maryland and was involved in marketing and development. Australian media reports indicate that Callum’s brother, Jake Robinson, worked as a doctor in their hometown of Perth, Australia.

As the community mourns the loss of these surfers, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to create a Memorial Fund for Carter Rhoad and to provide support to the Robinson Family in memory of Callum and Jake Robinson. The outpouring of support and love from the global surfing community has been overwhelming.
