The student was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital with serious injuries following the collision, which took place shortly after 1:30 a.m.

The driver involved in the incident has been identified as 30-year-old Blake A. Curtis of Ithaca. Curtis is facing charges of vehicular assault, classified as a class E felony, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. It was reported that Curtis immediately called 911 after the accident to report the incident.
