Accident – Death – Obituary News : KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A woman is facing a slew of charges following a car crash into a restaurant on Broadway in Knoxville that resulted in one person being injured on Saturday night, as reported by the Knoxville Police Department.
The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday when a vehicle collided with La Herradura, a restaurant situated in the 2600 block of North Broadway, as well as another parked car in the establishment’s parking lot, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
The driver of the car, identified as Baleigh Bates, 25, was suspected to be severely intoxicated at the time of the crash, authorities shared. Bates, who sustained minor injuries from the collision, has been charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, among other offences.
An employee who was inside the building during the crash reported being struck by debris as a result of the incident.
Following treatment for her injuries, Bates was taken into custody and transported to the Knox County Jail.
The Knoxville Police Department is conducting further investigations into the incident.
