Authorities in Walhalla, South Carolina are currently conducting an investigation into the tragic death of a man on Thursday night.
According to the Oconee County Coroner’s Office, the incident took place on South Highway 11 at approximately 7:20 p.m. when a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck.
Tragically, the 59-year-old man, identified as Michael Sid Green, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Reports indicate that Green was attempting to cross Highway 11 when the collision occurred. The coroner’s office has revealed that Green did not have a known local address and may have been experiencing homelessness.
Prior to his time in South Carolina, Green had resided in various states including Ohio, Mississippi, Virginia, Tennessee, and Florida.
Described as 6-feet tall and weighing approximately 225 pounds, Green had brown eyes and grey/white hair styled in a short cut.
