Accident – Death – Obituary News : After an extensive investigation lasting nearly a month, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department (EDSO) has announced that two individuals are now in custody in connection to a string of car burglaries in El Dorado Hills. These incidents have resulted in identity theft and instances of credit card fraud.

The investigation by EDSO Detectives began in early February following a series of thefts in El Dorado Hills, where the suspects not only burglarized multiple vehicles but also stole a vehicle. Subsequently, the victims discovered that their credit cards had been used at various retail establishments in Rancho Cordova.

Through diligent work, a suspect was identified as 36-year-old Amber Cunningham from Sacramento, as revealed in the report from the EDSO. Surveillance footage from several retail locations captured Cunningham engaging in identity theft through the illegal use of the victims’ credit cards. Following the identification of the suspect, an arrest warrant was issued and a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence.

During the execution of the warrants, Cunningham was located and taken into custody. Stolen items belonging to the victims were recovered, and additional evidence linking Cunningham to the initial thefts and subsequent identity thefts was also found.

Another suspect, 36-year-old Johnathan Reelfs from Sacramento, was identified during the warrant service. Reelfs was already in custody in another jurisdiction on unrelated charges. EDSO Detectives have made contact with Reelfs, and the investigation into his involvement in the case is ongoing.

Individuals with any information pertaining to these cases are encouraged to reach out to Detective Buckman at buckmanj@edso.org, who continues to diligently work on the case.
