Accident – Death – Obituary News : The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) Detectives have successfully arrested a suspect linked to a string of vehicle thefts and subsequent identity thefts in El Dorado Hills.
The investigation, which commenced in early February, uncovered a trail of stolen credit cards leading to multiple retail establishments in Rancho Cordova. The primary suspect, identified as 36-year-old Amber Cunningham from Sacramento, was captured on surveillance footage at various retail locations, engaging in identity theft through the illegal use of the victims’ credit cards, according to investigators.
As the investigation progressed, an arrest warrant was issued for Amber, and a search warrant was authorised for her residence. On February 15, 2024, EDSO Detectives executed the arrest and search warrants at Amber’s home, where she was apprehended without incident. The search of her residence yielded items stolen from the victims, providing further evidence connecting her to the initial thefts and subsequent identity thefts.
In addition to Amber Cunningham, a second suspect, identified as 36-year-old Johnathan Reelfs from Sacramento, was discovered during the execution of the warrant. However, Johnathan Reelfs was already in custody in another jurisdiction at the time. EDSO Detectives have established contact with Reelfs, and the investigation into his involvement in the case is ongoing.
The successful apprehension of these suspects highlights the diligent work of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office in combatting vehicle thefts and identity thefts in the area.
