Authorities in Walton County, Florida, were left shocked after pulling over an SUV in the early hours of the morning and discovering a 13-year-old behind the wheel with a loaded gun and a marijuana pipe in their possession. The incident, which occurred on Highway 98 near county Highway 393 North, unfolded as deputies observed the vehicle exhibiting erratic driving behaviour.

Despite attempts by the driver to flee the scene, the situation took a turn for the worse as the vehicle collided with a large construction barrel upon entering a construction zone. It was during this stop that deputies were taken aback to find the young driver in possession of a fully loaded .38 Special, a vape, and a marijuana pipe.

In response to these alarming revelations, the juvenile was promptly issued a criminal citation for driving without a license, whilst authorities wasted no time in applying for charges of a minor in possession of a firearm. Following up on the incident, School Resource deputies engaged with the teenager’s family, resulting in the youngster being enrolled in the distance learning program as a precautionary measure.

It remains a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and enforcement in safeguarding communities, with authorities continuing to monitor and address incidents of such nature to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all individuals in Walton County.
