Accident – Death – Obituary News :
Two individuals, a 6-year-old girl and a 26-year-old man, lost their lives in a devastating accident in S. Melapatti near Sempattividuthi in the district on Tuesday night. The victims have been identified as M. Peerthika Sri and M. Marimuthu, residents of Sevugampatti.
According to the police report, Marimuthu was operating the motorcycle with Peerthika Sri as the pillion rider, traveling from Sempattividuthi bazaar to their residence when tragedy struck. A mini freight carrier collided with their vehicle on the left side, causing both individuals to fall and sustain severe injuries to their head, forehead, face, and right leg.
Unfortunately, Marimuthu succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident, while the young girl passed away while being transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the freight carrier, identified as R. Muruganantham, a 39-year-old resident of Sempattividuthi, was taken into custody and subsequently remanded. The Sempattividuthi police have initiated legal proceedings following a formal complaint lodged by the girl’s father, S. Murugan.
