The student, identified as Satyam Suman, was a second-year BSC student hailing from Bihar. Reports suggest that Suman decided to end his life after facing action for cheating during an exam.
The viral video capturing the moments before Suman’s tragic leap has been circulating on social media platforms, causing distress among fellow students who witnessed the harrowing event. The Manipal police station has registered a case related to the incident, which took place last Saturday.

According to the police, Suman was caught cheating during the exam and was subsequently expelled from the examination hall. The humiliation he faced as a result of this incident is believed to have contributed to his decision to take his own life. The academic pressure and fear of ongoing exams may have pushed him to this extreme step.

This tragic incident in Udupi is not an isolated case. Another student succumbed to academic pressure in Lucknow, where a young student was found dead at her residence in the Para area. Despite efforts to save her, she was declared brought dead at the KGMU Trauma Centre.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava revealed that the victim’s mother, who is the principal at the same school her daughter attended, found the girl unconscious upon returning home. The girl was rushed to a nearby private hospital before being transferred to KGMU, where she was pronounced dead. The girl’s father is reported to be a bishop.
